Center for Trauma Recovery Student Training Program
The CTR has a training program for students of all mental health disciplines for the training placements:
- Undergraduate placement for case management
- First placement, 8-12 hours/week for 3 months
- First or Advanced Summer only placement, 8-20 hours/week
- Advanced placement, 16-20 hours/week for 9 months
- Combined placement for 12 months
- Psychological testing placement (only for doctoral students seeking Advanced or Combined placements)
Students will have opportunities to:
- Work with clients of all ages in individual, group, couple and family modalities in both English and Spanish
- Attend didactic seminars focused on clinical applicability of theoretical models in addition to trainings on evidence-based interventions for trauma
- Learn how to integrate psychological practice with body-centered approaches in an effective, seamless manner
- Further develop psychological testing skills in both English and Spanish
- Receive clinical supervision in the same language the treatment is provided and with focused consideration to all diversity contexts relevant to clients’ lives
We accept students for placement beginning in the Fall and Summer. Applications must include the following documentation:
